1. Sponsoring GFA native missionaries and Bridge of Hope children

2. Volunteering to serve GFA at a special event (conference or convention) in your local area

3. Raising $$$ for missions with “My GFA Campaign” — raising money for a project, such as buying chickens or rabbits or a “Jesus well” for people in need

12-year-old Lia Speaks on Abortion: Video Goes Viral

lia-millsWhat a wonderful example of a Daring Daughter (with a very supportive mom!). At 12-years-old, Lia Mills presented a speech on abortion for her 7th grade class (after much prayer and careful preparation). Today, her YouTube video has been seen nearly 2 MILLION times.

As you watch, let God challenge you to DARE to OBEY!

At first Lia’s pro-choice teacher told her that she was disqualified from the school’s speech competition because her topic was too controversial. But then she HEARD the speech and was so blown away she changed her mind. Lia went on to WIN the competition!

Lia’s Prepared Speech for the National Pro-Life Conference in Canada

Lia’s speech was recorded several years ago, in 2009; and today, her YouTube video is still impacting our generation. This “little girl” is now a beautiful young Christian woman, continuing to speak for pro-life needs. She can be found on Facebook at LiaMills4Life.

We’re women who care about the next generation!

At Daring Daughters, our passion is to inspire women of all ages for local and global missions. We have a heart for God’s Great Commandment and God’s Great Commission. We love God, we love others, and by His grace, we DARE to OBEY.

As God-loving women, we want to glorify God’s Name, wherever He calls us — reaching the neighbors next-door or the nations across the globe (along with the children entrusted to our care, right in our own homes!).

Break my heart for what breaks Yours. 
Everything I am for Your kingdom’s cause.
Show me how to love like You have loved me.

Our hearts beat for God’s purposes and they “break” for the evils and injustices of our world. And we DARE to pray and to ask God how we can help.

  • As mothers (and as mentors), we want to seek God fervently, with our lives and our families in God’s daily divine balance. We want to effectively train our daughters (and all of our children) to love the Lord and to glorify Him. At the same time, we long to be examples of God’s mercy and compassion.

  • As daughters (and girls of this generation), we want to prepare for our future, while fully embracing and enjoying this season. We want to live with a biblical, self-sacrificing perspective, that’s so different than today’s selfish, humanistic mindset. We choose to worship God and to enjoy Him forever . . . and somehow, we also want to shine for Jesus in our dark and hurting world.


We’re bringing the generations together . . .

As Director of Daring Daughters, I welcome you to JOIN us! I’m Ann Dunagan, director of Daring Daughters, and I’m excited about what God is doing and who He is bringing together. (Meet our contributing mentors!)

We have a vision for women, especially mothers and daughters, who desire to fervently seek God’s purposes. We see the generations coming together — with the spiritual wisdom and perspective of motherhood combined with the creative zeal of youth. We envision the potential in many mother-daughter-teams and mentor-groups . . . and pray for God’s kingdom to come!

Together, as we fervently seek the Lord and His purposes, God can give us His fresh perspective for living with wholehearted devotion and day-by-day purity. Instead of merely “fulfilling responsibilities” and “following rules” we want to live with a higher vision. We want God to mold us — from the inside out — and to train us for His leadership and service. We surrender everything to Him and allow Him to work through us, however He desires, whether His plans are adventurous and big, or simple and small.

As moms and daughters, we seize each day, while preparing for the future and investing in eternity. We’re embracing the here-and-now to obey God with both radical obedience and daily faithfulness.

  • As mothers, (and as mentors) we’re reaching up to God, to magnify Him and to let our hearts begin to dream again, as in the days of our youth.

  • As daughters, (and as girls of the next generation) we’re ready to learn . . . and to step up to God’s calling for the days to come!

Meet Hannah: Music for Missions!

hannah-2Here at Daring Daughters, we’re so proud of Hannah Schweighardt (14-year-old daughter of our DD Adoption Mentor, Sonya Schweighardt). This summer, Lord willing, Hannah is going on her first mission trip, to Uganda. Hannah plays guitar and writes music and has just produced her first CD as a tool to help support missions and orphans.
Way to go, Hannah! What an inspiration!

Hi. I’m Hannah, 14 almost 15. I love to sing and I’m passionate about Jesus and His love.

Growing up in a family of 15 siblings, with 8 of them being from Africa, I’ve always had a love for that part of the world.

This past year has been hard for me. I’ve been trying to discover who I am and my purpose. I guess all teenagers go through that at one point in their lives. Looking for God, searching for answers and trying to find balance in life. On my search for answers and “happiness”, I’ve discovered that you can’t find either in anything this world has to offer. True Joy is only found when you surrender your life to Christ and His will.

Going to Uganda wasn’t really planned…it just happened.
I believe God is calling me there.

People always ask where the inspiration for my songs come from.
It’s a pretty simple answer…God.

He shows me things in my own life through others and through scripture that inspire my song writing. God is so good and He continues to reveal new things to me as I walk through life. One of the most important things He’s been teaching me is love. God’s love is perfect and unchanging. He never gives up on us.

In 1 John 3:16, He gives us the very definition of love…His Son.

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.
And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
–I John 3:16

As I’ve been reading through 1 John, there is a part about love and how we should love with action, not just words. That’s what I’m trying to do through my music and this mission’s trip. Its a trip about love, but no earthly love that I could offer…but God’s perfect unfailing and unchanging love.

And her mom, Sonya Schweighardt (homeschooling mother of 15 children, including a dozen adopted children, and family adoption mentor), is one of our Keynote Speakers!
